Let's Get to Know Each Other
We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Awaken Church a great one!
We are not a "traditional" church. We don't meet at a building and don't have a rigid time of service (E.g. Music, preaching, prayer, dismiss). We meet in the Pastor's living room and have a Bible study like feel to it.
Awaken Church meets at Pastor Zach's house at 10:30am on Sunday's. If you are interested in joining a service, please contact Pastor Zach.
What Can I Expect?
In total, a service is about 2 hours in length. Services begin with fellowship. An opportunity for everyone to gather, get some coffee, eat some donuts and catch up on their past week. After a time of fellowship, we begin by looking back to last week. We go over our lesson from last week and help each other with anything that was confusing and to encourage those who are discouraged. After looking back, we take time to look up. This is the time in God’s Word. The goal of this time is to help each other discover the Truth for ourselves. We read the passage, summarize it, and then talk about it. After looking up, we then look forward. The main question asked is, “What is God calling us to do this week regarding the passage?” This is our time to help give practical steps to fulfill God’s calling in your life.
Sunday’s at Awaken Church are exciting, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest. It is a discussion based culture. Think of Bible study instead of a traditional worship service.
We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week – and at Awaken Church, we make this a priority. Currently we are learning the best way to serve parents and kids. Rest assured, your kids will get to experience the love of Jesus and learn about Him in their own way. When I tell you we love kids and are cool with them in our meetings, we are serious. Pastor Zach has 17 nieces and nephews, with 15 of them 11 and under, he understands loud and rowdy (and mischievous) so please feel comfortable about bringing your kids and them being kids.
Currently – kids are welcome to join in during our lesson time and sing any songs we have and be part of the conversation. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Children have an important place at Awaken Church. We also have a playroom and a time for kids to learn a Bible lesson for themselves.
